The Emptyness When a Clown leaves the Room

Did this really happen? Was this man really our President? It's been a week since The O-Man took office and I'm still having problems adjusting. Its a shock to the system. We've been force fed so much Republican garbage for the last eight years that the body doesn't know what to do with the new food its getting. To now have a President that can speak well and have tremendous brain power is almost surreal. It's going to take some time to get used to. I have a feeling the Bush Hangover will be one we will never forget. I'm still throwing up.

Did it happen? - Yes!
Was he President - Yes!
Problems adjusting and shocked? That will soon pass.
Republican force-fed-garbage? Hmmmm... Interesting that you chose to display two photos of media folks - not government officials. Remember, anyone can opt to ignore media clowns; we cannot ignore government folks. Do you really think the majority of Republicans actually believe everything Rush and Laura say? Do you believe everything you read and hear from the left side of the spectrum? I know you to be much more savvy than that! I, like most Republicans I know, am just like you; we don't believe everything we hear or read. As a matter of fact, I hear more about what Rush and Hannity said from my Democrat and Socialists (yes, I know a few) friends than from my Republicans and Ultra-Right-Wing (yes, I know a few) friends.
Give me the facts, like you share the all-important facts about beer! So, here's a challenge for you: Name three things that President Bush did alone and unilaterally that you consider force-fed garbage.
Well-spoken and smart President Obama? True! Very true! But, isn't history filled with well-spoken and smart leaders that caused much damage? Your Presidential Paul-Rating scale needs some adjustment, my friend. It needs to be, I think, at least as high as the one you use for beer. You don't rate a beer by the label or the container, right? You withhold judgement and Paul-rating any beer until you have actually taken that first gulp of the cold, bubbly elixir. We cannot know, at this stage, the kind of effect the Obama Presidency will have on our Country. I, like you, truly believe the opportunity exists for it to be great - perhaps the greatest thus far - but only its deeds will determine that.
Hangover? Wipe the puke, drink some coffee and begin paying close attention to what is currently happening in Congress. I think we are getting dangerously close to mortgaging your child's future and transforming our Country into something it was never meant to be. Let's you and I, together, make sure we end up with something better than what we've enjoyed thus far.

Here is a letter I recently wrote to our Senators: http://blog.willyesteban.com/2009/02/02/letter-to-my-senators-on-stimulus-package.aspx

Your friend,

Willy

Paul-

Take Willy's advice. Of all people, I would think that you wouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Let's read this book cover to cover before you stamp your approval on Obama. I could care less is his outward appearance and "stage" presence is great. Let's see what he can do for America!!!!
